ReeZon Bio
ReeZon is poised to become one of Ghana’s leading rap voices in 2010 with the release of his debut album I Am The ReeZon… which is the culmination of the last 5 years of commitment and dedication to his craft. In this short period, the fans-appointed “Prince of Ghana” has gone from participating in and winning talent shows, as well as producing songs in college, to becoming an outspoken, empowered emcee with a maturity that belies the infancy of his career. He has evolved from a young African child on the streets of Ghana to a lyrical giant currently based in the US, but with his heart firmly planted in Ghana and Africa.
Born Richard Sowah to one of Ghana’s football superstars, Daniel Boye Sowah, ReeZon moved to the United States to pursue higher education after graduating from Morning Star School in Accra, Ghana. He graduated left college with an Electrical Engineering degree and entered the related job market but with the desire and the determination to develop as an artist and help introduce Ghana to the world through his music. ReeZon rhymes are characterized by a fluency in language and thought and he has lived wholeheartedly, delving into pop culture and flirting with life in the fast lane, all of which provides ample fodder for his music. His synthesis of well-crafted rhetoric and street-glamorous imagery blossomed in 2005 when he connected with Jphat of Hustle Harder records. Together, they created a couple of songs take me there, and stay on da grind which generated a big buzz in Chicago and drew attention to his music.
ReeZon is the first artist to be launched by the independent entertainment company, Rych Entertainment, and he drew from a strong collection of producers to create I’m the ReeZon… which has helped build additional anticipation for the album. The first single Drinks On Me is already running on all Ghana radio stations, at parties and in dance clubs. I am the ReeZon… is anticipated to have a level of commercial success globally due to the strong network ReeZon has built and the expansive global distribution plan that Rych Entertainment has put in place.
Brace yourself for one of the most prolific hip-hop artists from the motherland.

REVIEW:
I Am The Reezon ...
I Am The Reezon ... is a delicate marriage between the two worlds that have birthed and nurtured Reezon, Ghana and the US. Though strongly influenced by American hip hop, he finds subtle ways of bringing through the African in him.
The intro sets the stage and the album takes you on a journey through the experiences of this young man, from love, to national pride, to the desire and commitment to building a positive life. Tracks like Don’t Let Go, The Struggle, Good Year 2010 and Yaa Asantewaa reflect the true essence of what Reezon is about, changing perceptions and celebrating life and Ghana.
At the same time, it has the club bangers that allow us to step away from the introspective and just celebrate, including the first single Drinks On Me, Commort 4 Derr and Reezon. The production on the album is catchy, polished and complements Reezon’s rhymes perfectly, with Rapitfly, Ndex, VTZ and 2Deep all contributing.
As a first album, it sets a solid foundation for Reezon to build a long-lasting career.
